Will these photos and videos make you tear up???
Probably not, because you didn’t spend several months planning this event, rallying your team, inspiring your tribe and coordinating a million and one details to make this Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Fundraiser a reality.

With this event, Burn Boot Camp STL, led by Chelsea Theodoropoulos, raised tens of thousands of dollars to send kids that have been hit by Muscular Dystrophy to their Summer Camp. “Be Their Muscle” was the rallying cry for this inspirational event.

Here’s what Chelsea wrote to me after seeing my photos and videos:
“Mark, These pictures and videos have me in tears. Wow. I am blown away by your talent and your willingness to give us all these memories in the way you did. I couldn’t love these pictures and videos more!!!!!!! Thank you…”
On the day, you could see the pride and gratitude on Chelsea’s face. She was in awe of the kindness and generosity of all of the people that gave their time, money and energy to this wonderful event.
I’m glad I was asked to capture it so that everyone can be reminded of what happened, what went into it, the fun they had during the event and the lives that will benefit from getting to go to the MDA Summer Camp.
So, yes, on one hand this was “just another event to shoot” for a pro photographer and filmmaker, but for me, I knew full well that this isn’t “just another event.” This was someone’s passion project and they poured their heart and soul into making it great. Chelsea and her tribe deserved to get the images that would remind everyone involved that it’s a beautiful thing to give back to our community.
